Hello! My name is Lydia, and I'm a native English speaker with over 5 years of experience teaching English to students of all ages and levels, from children / young learners to adults. My lessons are relaxed, friendly, and tailored to your goals. Whether you're learning English for travel, work, business, interviews, IELTS, or everyday conversation, I'll help you improve your fluency, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, and, most importantly, your confidence. If speaking English makes you nervous, you're in good company—almost everyone feels that way at first. My lessons are a judgment-free space where you're encouraged to ask questions, make mistakes, and occasionally spend two minutes looking for the perfect word... only to remember it five minutes later. It happens to all of us. One of my favourite parts of teaching is meeting people from around the world. I genuinely enjoy learning about different cultures, traditions, and ways of thinking. Every lesson is a little different, which means my job never gets boring—and hopefully neither do yours. I like lessons that feel like real conversations rather than lectures. We'll work hard, but there's always room for a laugh along the way. After all, English is confusing enough without taking ourselves too seriously. Whoever decided that *through*, *though*, *thought*, and *tough* should all be pronounced differently clearly had a sense of humour. Whether you prefer structured lessons or relaxed conversation practice, I'll adapt each lesson to suit your learning style and help you build confidence at your own pace. When I'm not teaching, you'll usually find me with an iced coffee in hand, planning my next trip or looking for my next favourite film. I love travelling and have been fortunate enough to visit over 10 countries so far, and my travel bucket list just keeps getting longer! One of my biggest passions is learning about different cultures and meeting people from all over the world. I find it fascinating to discover how people live, celebrate traditions, and experience everyday life in different countries. It's one of the reasons I love teaching on Cambly—every lesson is an opportunity to have interesting conversations and learn something new. I'm also passionate about languages and hope to become multilingual myself. As someone who is learning another language, I understand the challenges that come with it—the moments of confusion, the small victories, and the confidence that grows with practice. That's why I always aim to create a relaxed and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable speaking without worrying about making mistakes. Outside of teaching, I enjoy photography, spending time with my family and friends, and capturing memories from my travels. I believe that language opens doors to new opportunities, friendships, and experiences, and I'm excited to help you on that journey while learning from you too.
